Washington Island Birding Festival Signup Starts

Registration has opened for the Washington Island Birding Festival, scheduled for May 17-19. Hosted by Washington Island Art and Nature Center, offers guided birding excursions to around Washington Island and Rock Island, informative talks and opportunities to meet fellow birding enthusiasts. Participants will have the chance to explore various birding hotspots around the island, guided by experienced birding experts Donna Benson, Ryan Borman, Eric Howe, Melody Walsh, Mike Wanger, Stephen Winter, Kristin Wegner and Paul Noelder. 

There also will be optional evening activities including: Night Prowl to look for swifts and nighthawks and to listen for whip-poor-will and/or owls and a public presentation on Lyme disease by Dr. Terry Foster.

The registration fee is $75. Early registration is recommended, with a deadline of May 5.
