Washington Island Students Sweep SeaPerch Competition

Two teams heading to international competition

Students from Washington Island placed in the top-three spots April 1 at the Regional Sea Perch competition, where 20 teams of middle school students from across northeastern Wisconsin participated.

Team Flounder placed first overall, Team Sea Angels second and Team Moby third. The top-two teams will compete in the International SeaPerch competition May 13 at the University of Maryland.SeaPerch (seaperch.org) is an innovative underwater-robotics program that equips teachers and students with the resources they need to build an underwater remotely operated vehicle in an in-school or out-of-school setting.
