YMCA Hosts 24th Annual Christmas Folk Art Fair

The public is welcome to join the Door County YMCA for their 24th annual Christmas Folk Art Fair on Sunday, Nov. 21 from 9 am – 3 pm at the Sturgeon Bay Program Center. The art fair will feature handmade works of art from many of the same artists and fine crafts persons who participate each year, along with over a dozen new artists. Some of the works available for purchase include watercolor paintings, jewelry, homemade soaps, birdhouses, wreaths, greeting cards, mittens, scarves, decorative items, and more.

The fair will also feature an array of baked goods, soups, and sandwiches with proceeds supporting the Door County YMCA Youth in Government Program. A silent auction will take place throughout the day. Admission is $3 for attendees aged 16 and older.

Founded in 1947, the YMCA Youth in Government is a nationwide program that provides high school students an opportunity to experience the democratic process firsthand. Proceeds from the fair make it possible for Youth in Government students to attend a four-day legislative session in Madison each spring.

The Door County YMCA is located at 1900 Michigan Street, Sturgeon Bay. For more information and/or to donate food or silent auction items to the fair, contact Erin Hoffman at 920.743.4949.
