YMCA Passes Campaign’s Halfway Mark

The Door County YMCA has surpassed the halfway point or its Annual Campaign goal to raise $500,000. Funds raised through the Annual Campaign and various community special events, will provide financial assistance for Door County residents who cannot afford a Y membership. Last year, almost 1,800 county residents received financial assistance for Y memberships. Additionally, the Annual Campaign provides funding support for programming like LiveSTRONG at the YMCA, Summer Foods, Healthy Kids Day, Community Health Fairs and more.

“Throughout our county, countless people know the Y. But there’s so much more to our Y than one might think” Tom Beerntsen, CEO of the Door County YMCA explained. “The Y is more than a gym and a pool. It’s a cause. As a charity, we are dedicated to nurturing the potential of every child and teen, improving the health of everyone in our community and giving back by providing support to our neighbors. Our Annual Campaign allows us to honor our promise to serve all without regard to financial ability.”
