Oboe, Viola and Piano Featured in Feb. 20 PMF Concert

Peninsula Music Festival’s (PMF) February Fest continues Feb. 20 when PMF principal oboe Eric Olson and violist Ellen Olson arrive from Florida to experience winter in Door County. They will be joined by PMF pianist Judith Jackson. The 2 pm concert will take place at Shepherd of the Bay Lutheran Church in Ellison Bay. The concert will feature the music of Shatin, Beethoven, Clarke and Loeillet.

Eric Olson is principal oboist with the Jacksonville Symphony, a position he has held since 1986. He is also currently the principal oboist of PMF, a position he has held since 2007.

Ellen Olson plays in the St. Augustine Music Festival each June and is on the faculty of the Prelude Chamber Music Camp. Before coming to the Jacksonville Symphony in 1985, she was a member of the Puerto Rico Symphony. She performs regularly as a chamber musician in the Jacksonville area.

Jackson is a professional pianist, accompanist and vocal coach. She was principal pianist of Chicago Opera Theater for more than a decade before moving permanently to Door County. Jackson enjoys a dual role with PMF, as pianist in both the August series and February Fest and Choral Director for PMF vocal concerts.
