A New Kind of Vintage

WIFEE and the HUZz BAND will open the Peg Egan PAC Sunset Concert Series on June 21 at 7 pm. This concert series takes place at the Peg Egan PAC on Church Street in Egg Harbor and is free to the general public.

WIFEE and the HUZz BAND is a 10-piece, original music heavy band with full horn section and a DJ that pulls from influences of soul, Motown, 50’s-60’s rock and roll, rhythm and blues, and some funk. People often ask for a word or two to explain the sound and how to sum all that up into one word, WIFEE and the HUZz BAND is “new vintage,” or “new classic soul.”

Most of the original songs have been written by Stephen Cooper (the HUZz) and Ruby James (the WIFEE), along with some other writer and musician friends from Steel Bridge Songfest and other Holiday Music Motel events. The idea for this band came about on Aug. 6, 2012, when they got engaged at Poh’s Corner Pub on their friend pat mAcdonald’s birthday. “Songs of eternal love and immediate satisfaction,” said pat mAcdonald. The Peg Egan PAC is located on Church Street in Egg Harbor, and all concerts are free and open to the public. In case of rain, concerts will be held at the Calvary Methodist Church in Egg Harbor.
