Access Expanding at Door County’s Libraries

Starting July 13, the Door County Library will reopen with increased hours and services and limited browsing at all of its branches: Baileys Harbor, Egg Harbor, Ephraim, Fish Creek, Forestville, Sister Bay/Liberty Grove, Sturgeon Bay and Washington Island. The pickup service will also still be available.

The library has made many adjustments to service in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and is cautiously moving to restore services.

“We miss serving our library users and have heard loud and clear how much library services mean to both Door County residents and visitors,” Director Tina Kakuske said, and she thanked the public for its patience as the staff slowly returns to having people visit branches safely.

To that end, all library visitors should wear a mask, observe a physical distance of six feet, remain home if they feel ill (the contactless pickup service is available), limit computer use to one hour per person per day, limit browsing to a half hour per person per day, observe occupancy limits and at-risk hours, and ensure that children younger than 12 are accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Call your local library branch or check doorcountylibrary.org to find details about days and hours of operation for all patrons, including those who are at risk.
