Amanda Mittermann Named Humane Society Volunteer Coordinator

Amanda Mittermann DCHSThe Door County Humane Society (DCHS) welcomes Volunteer Coordinator Amanda Mittermann to its staff. Mittermann is a Door County native and alumni of Gibraltar High School. She currently resides in Ephraim with her husband, three children and dog named Clydesdale. Mittermann graduated from the Medical Institute of Minnesota where she received her Veterinary Technician Degree.

The new volunteer coordinator position includes recruiting new volunteers, building relationships with current volunteers and working on establishing a strong volunteer program. “I am extremely impressed with the dedication of our current volunteers here at DCHS. We have a strong core but need to grow our numbers. There are so many different ways that one can get involved at DCHS, whether it be working at the front desk, walking dogs, socializing with cats, or working at special events. No matter what your skill set is, we will find a way for you to use your talents to benefit the animals here at the shelter. I think it is necessary to discover what each volunteer is looking for in their volunteering experience and then provide them with the right training so that they can excel.”

If interested in becoming part of the DCHS volunteer group, contact Mittermann at 920.746.1111 ext. 3, or [email protected].
