Door County Humane Society Receives Grant to Fund Volunteer Coordinator

The Door County Humane Society (DCHS) recently received a $13,435 grant through the Northern Tier Shelter Initiative of The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals to fund a dedicated, part-time volunteer coordinator.

“Volunteers play a vital role in nearly every aspect of the Door County Humane Society’s operations,” said Director Carol Boudreau. “We are thrilled the ASPCA chose to support DCHS through this funding. We rely on volunteers every day to help care for our animals and connect them with loving, forever families. This grant – our first from the ASPCA – will allow DCHS to expand and formalize our volunteer program with the goal of increasing adoptions and decreasing the length of time any cat or dog must live at the shelter.”
