Art League Plans Big Weekend with “Art in the Barn” and Gallery Reception

Door County Art League (DCAL) members will be displaying and selling their work in a beautiful barn setting at 8822 Highway 57 in Baileys Harbor Friday through Sunday, October 10 – 12.

As the final “Art in the Barn” sale for 2008, the exhibit will be open from 10 am – 5 pm on Friday and Saturday and from 10 am – 4 pm on Sunday. League members will also be demonstrating their many diverse talents.

Also on Friday, October 10, from 5 – 8 pm, the Gallery of the Door County Art League will hold a reception so that the public can enjoy refreshments as they peruse the exhibit and meet the participating artists. The gallery is located at the back of the Top of the Hill Shops, Highway 42 and County F on Spring Road in Fish Creek.

Among the artists scheduled to demonstrate before the gallery closes for the season on October 19, are Marjory Allingham, who will show how she does Bauernmalerei – folk art that originated in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland – on Oct. 10; and watercolorist Penny Pfister will demonstrate on Oct. 16. Finally, Sally Everhardus, who works in watercolor, acrylic, pastel, and wood, will demonstrate on Oct. 18.
