Auction and Birds Of Prey Kick Off DCHS Season

The first event of the Door County Historical Society (DCHS) speaker series will combine the DCHS Endowment Silent Auction with a program about birds of prey, presented by Open Door Bird Sanctuary’s Rob Hults.

Every admission fee adds to the historical society’s funds, but luncheon-goers also can bid on an array of products donated by local businesses.

Doors will open Saturday, Feb. 24 at 11:30 am for the program and auction at Stone Harbor Resort, 107 N. 1st Ave. in Sturgeon Bay.

The price is $40 per person (DCHS members pay $35). Attendees should register at least one week in advance via mail, online at doorcountyhistoricalsociety.org or by calling the office at 920.421.2332.

The other series topics this year include the Sister Bay Historical Society, Ahnapee Trail, DCHS museum, post office, Leathem Smith, ghostly stories and the “First Peoples in Door County.”
