Bead Paintings at Hope Church

All are invited to the opening of a new art exhibit at Hope Church Art Alcoves Gallery on Jan. 28, 11:30 am – 12:30 pm. Artist Stella Rogers will be present and her work will be on exhibit through the first week of March.

Rogers “discovered” her medium, something she calls “bead painting,” while caring for her mother for the last five years. Each piece is born from a joyful, exciting adventure and is created entirely by hand, one bead at a time. Viewers are rewarded by looking closely at the intricate beads that weave together to make a bright and cohesive design. Rogers said, “My art brings me joy in its creation. It is my hope that it brings joy to others as its fulfillment.”

Rogers was born and raised in Madison and since 1996 has been living in Sturgeon Bay. Apart from elementary school art classes she is self-taught.

The Hope Church Art Alcoves Gallery is located off Fellowship Hall in Hope Church at the corner of Michigan Street and 12th Avenue in Sturgeon Bay and is open whenever the church is open, subject to other functions in the Fellowship Hall. The church is open during office hours Monday through Friday, 9 am – 1 pm.
