Birch Creek’s Fall Concert Series Presents Talk of the Town

Birch Creek Music Performance Center is excited to host Talk of the Town, a nationally recognized Swing/Dixieland group, on Sept. 26 at 7:30 pm as part of their Fall Concert Series.

Talk of the Town is a successful six-piece outfit led by Kevin Van Ess, a highly sought after clarinetist from Wisconsin. Van Ess has played nationally with artists such as Pete Fountain, Bob Hope, the Green Bay Packer Band, and in New Orleans on Bourbon Street. The Talk of the Town performs with an emphasis on traditional jazz and the great jazz standards, with nods in their performances to Pete Fountain, Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, and Count Basie. A typical Talk of the Town performance will include renditions of crowd favorite classics such as “Sing, Sing, Sing,” “When the Saints Go Marching In,” and “In the Mood.”

Proceeds from this concert, as with all events in Birch Creek’s Fall Concert Series, will directly benefit Birch Creek students and the Birch Creek Scholarship Fund.
