Blue Moon Framery Opens Art Gallery

To celebrate two years in operation, Blue Moon Framery is expanding to include an art gallery.

Its opening weekend will be Oct. 21 – 22, 10 am – 4 pm, coinciding with the annual Sturgeon Bay Art Crawl.

In addition to being one of only 100 Master Certified Picture Framers in the world, Blue Moon owner Janine Buechner is an artist herself. She specializes in linoleum block printing, which she uses to create illustrations of her life in Door County.

Buechner also makes wire-wrapped, wearable-art pendants with beach glass collected from local shores.

“I am inspired by my family and our interactions with nature,” Buechner said. “Many of my pieces are ‘true stories.’”

Blue Moon Framery is located at 217 N. 4th Ave., Suite 18, in Sturgeon Bay. After the art crawl, it will be open to the public by appointment. Appointments can be scheduled at bluemoonframery.com.
