Call for CHAIRries Artists

The Sturgeon Bay Visitor Center (SBVC) is looking for artists to embellish an Adirondack chair or create a chair of their own for the inaugural CHAIRries street-art program, which will be presented by the SBVC and Associated Bank. Chairs will be displayed throughout Sturgeon Bay starting May 2019. Artists are encouraged to apply for this unique collaboration of art and community in order to beautify the streets of Sturgeon Bay.

In creating an Adirondack chair, artists have the choice to embellish, adorn and enhance one chair or a pair of chairs provided by the SBVC. All chairs are sponsored by local businesses and will be on display May 13 through Sept. 21, 2019. Chairs will be auctioned off at Martin Park following Harvest Fest. Auction proceeds benefit the artists and future street-beautification projects.

The CHAIRries street-art program provides artists the opportunity to showcase their artistic talent and creative capability to both Door County residents and tourists alike during the summer season. Contact the SBVC at 920.743.6246, email [email protected], or visit SturgeonBay.net to apply. The application deadline is Jan. 11, 2019.
