Cappaert Contemporary Gallery Starts Seventh Season

Cappaert Contemporary Gallery, now open for its seventh season, is welcoming many new artists who work in encaustic, kozo construction, segmented wood turning, ceramics, jewelry, outdoor sculpture and more.

The gallery also represents resident artist Ginnie Cappaert, working in oil and cold wax. She creates a new series of work every year, and for 2021, her paintings are abstracted visions of Door County sunsets, which she watched from her home during the pandemic.

“Although skies have always been a part of my work,” Cappaert said, “it was the slowing down and noticing more that developed this body of abstracted, minimalist sunset paintings.”

She also shows at Edgewood Orchard Galleries, 4140 Peninsula Players Road in Fish Creek.Cappaert Contemporary Gallery (cappaertcontemporary.com), 7901 Hwy 42 in Egg Harbor, is open daily, 10 am – 5 pm, through October 31.
