Challenge Walk MS raised $380,000

• Participants in the 2011 Wisconsin Challenge Walk MS in Door County raised over $380,000 for Multiple Sclerosis research. That total was revised from an initial estimate of $346,000. The three-day, 50-mile walk took place Sept. 23 – 25.

Two hundred seventeen walkers from 15 states raised at least $1,500 each to participate in the fourth annual walk, which was based at the Alpine Resort in Egg Harbor this year.

One hundred people have already signed up to participate in next year’s walk. The National Multiple Sclerosis Society (NMSS) hosts 10 Challenge Walk MS events nationwide, including a 900-person walk in New England.

“We’re very excited about this event,” said Cindy Yomantas, Vice President of Marketing Communications and Strategy for NMSS. “The Challenge Walk MS participants have loved their experience in Door County.”
