William Schneider’s work is on display at the Champeau Gallery in Sister Bay. The artist recently received recognition at “The Pastel National Exhibition 2010” held at the Wichita Center for the Arts. He received third place for his painting “Antique Lantern,” which was on display from March 19 through May 16 at the national exhibition.

“I was intrigued by the interplay of warm and cool light,” Schneider said of his winning piece. “It seemed to reinforce the introspective mood as the model concentrated on the lantern.”

The juror of awards for the exhibition was Doug Dawson, Master Pastelist and Pastel Society of America Hall of Fame Inductee.
