Clippers Pull Past Truckers in Girls Basketball

Sturgeon Bay’s girls basketball team pulled out a 31-29 non-conference victory Friday at Clintonville.

The game was tied at 15-15 in the first half when the Clippers’ Tori Alger suffered a knee injury.

“Tori is a tough, young lady and competitor, and the team wanted to win the game for her,” said Sturgeon Bay head coach Dan Tjernagel.

The Clippers were led by Dasha Yeltysheva with 15 points. Regan Kasten added 11 points.

Next up for Sturgeon Bay, which improved to 3-3 overall and is 1-2 in the Packerland Conference, is a league game Tuesday at Southern Door.
