Coaty and Allingham at DCAL Gallery

The Door County Art League (DCAL) Gallery will showcase the photography of Martha Coaty and the decorative art of Marjory Allingham as artists of the week, Aug. 19 – 26.

A professional photographer for over 30 years, Coaty’s portraits capture the essence of a time gone by. She focuses on architecture, animals and rustic surfaces.

Coaty has participated in numerous juried shows and received juror’s awards at the Hardy Gallery and Miller Art Museum. She was also the recipient of the First Place prize in the Peninsula Pulse’s 2011 Photography Jubilee. Coaty lives in Allouez.

Allingham’s display will feature plates, boxes and other items decorated in the Bauernmalerei style of folk art. This style of painting is popular in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Allingham lives in Sturgeon Bay.

The DCAL Gallery, open daily from 10 am – 5 pm, is located at the Top of the Hill Shops on Highway 42 in Fish Creek.
