Coming Up: Memorial Day Events

The Billy Weiss American Legion Post 527 of Sister Bay and VFW Post 8337 of Ellison Bay are hosting memorials May 29.

During a brief ceremony at 8:30 am, a wreath will be placed at the Veterans Memorial marker at Hendrickson Park, on the corner of Highway 42 and Mill Road in Sister Bay. 

At 10:30 am, American Legion Commander Tom Kowalski will lead a program at Little Sister Cemetery that will include music by the Gibraltar band, led by veteran Charlie Eckhardt; a choir singing patriotic songs; a guest speaker; and the reading of a list of deceased veterans from the past year. Take a chair. 

In the case of inclement weather, the program will be held at First Baptist Church in Sister Bay.
