Inaugural Holiday Bazaar for the Family Centers of Door County
The inaugural holiday bazaar for the Family Centers of Door County will be held Dec. 8, 11 am – 5 pm, at Sturgeon Bay High School. There will be crafters, artists, local small businesses, direct sales reps, 50/50 raffle and a bake sale along with free coffee and cider.

Time to Participate in The Big Bundle Up Campaign
The Door County Visitor Bureau is inviting residents and visitors to drop off new or gently used coats, sweaters, hats, mittens and other warm clothing items as part of the Wisconsin Department of Tourism’s “The Big Bundle Up” campaign, running now through Jan.

Contestants for Miss Door County and Miss Door County Outstanding Teen 2014 were recently announced by the Miss Door County Committee. The 18th annual competition takes place at the Southern Door Community Auditorium on Feb.

As part of an annual bank-wide community service commitment Baylake Bank staff together with the support of Baylake customers, friends, and the local business community, raised $17,153 for Ronald McDonald House Charities.

Ellison Bay’s Christmas Tree “Planted”
Lee Telfer of the Ellison Bay Service Club and David Wohnrade of Four Seasons Tree Experts “planted” Ellison Bay’s village Christmas tree on Nov. 19. Ellison Bay residents Dwight and Linda Davis donated the majestic Blue Spruce to the Ellison Bay Service Club.

For many years, Santa and his sleigh could be seen outside the home of Bob and Judy Berns on Bay Shore Drive in Sister Bay. Shortly before Bob’s death in 2006, he made arrangements for the display to be given to the Sister Bay Historical Society.

Amos may only be famous in a small sphere, but he’s making that count! This 8-year-old Lhasa Apso came into the shelter as a surrender. He is used to one owner in a quiet setting, and would do very well with that same environment again.

Holiday Home Tour Benefits Door CANcer
DOOR CANcer Inc. was established in 1997 to help people with financial assistance while dealing with cancer. The first fundraiser we had was at Christmas time, and businesses decorated wreaths to be auctioned off.

Altrusa Club Donates Braille Books to Library
Ten books with Braille were donated to the Sturgeon Bay Library and accepted by children’s librarian Beth Lokken. Ten titles were chosen by Lokken and ordered by the Altrusa Club of Door County from Seedlings Braille Books for Children.

Neighbor to Neighbor Volunteer Caregivers of Door County held their fifth annual Door County Rib Fest on Nov. 2 at the Sturgeon Bay Yacht Club. Participating in the professional category were Pelletier’s Restaurant, Casey’s BBQ & Smokehouse, Sturgeon Bay Yacht Club, The Cabin Restaurant, The Lodge at Leathem Smith and Julie’s Park Café & Motel.

Northern Door Children’s Center Holiday Home Tour will feature Ellison Bay Manor, Wisconsin’s largest private residence, on Nov. 30 from 7 – 10 pm. The evening features a presentation by George Raasch, one of the architects who designed Ellison Bay Manor, plus an extended tour, hors d’oeuvres and spirits of the season.
