Hwy. 42

Schedule: July 2015 to June 2016

Cost: $5.8 million

Location: Village of Sister Bay, Country Walk Drive to Scandia Road

Description: This project involves the reconstruction of Hwys. 42 and 57 in Sister Bay. The work includes traffic and erosion control, signing, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, water main, curb and gutter, sidewalks, lighting, concrete and asphalt pavement, and landscaping.

Nov. 2 – 6: Crews plan to continue grading and gravel pavement operations on southbound 42. Crews also plan to concrete pave southbound 42 from Hwy. 57 to the north end of the project and complete the curb and gutter work on 57 and Gateway Drive.

Traffic impacts: Oct. 31 to Nov. 20: Hwy. 42 southbound will be closed. The 42 southbound traffic detour will be Scandia Road to Woodcrest Road to Old Stage Road to 57 to Country Walk Drive to 42. Hwy. 42 northbound will be open. Hwy. 57 traffic is detoured for both northbound and southbound traffic. The detour is 57 to Country Walk Drive to 42. Location: City of Sturgeon Bay, Michigan Street to Egg Harbor Road

Description: This project includes excavation common, base aggregate, asphaltic surface temporary, erosion control, traffic control, restoration and all incidental items necessary to complete the work as shown on the plans and included in the proposal and contract.

Traffic impacts: Shoulder closures will be used during daily construction along Hwy. 42/57. Flagging operations will be used when necessary.

Hwy. 57

Schedule: September 2015 to November 2015

Length: 0.5 Miles

Cost: $932,686

Location: Pine Road Mitigation Site and County C and Hwy. 57 intersection.

Description of project: The project involves mitigation site maintenance at the Pine Road Mitigation Site and constructing J-turns at the intersection of County C and 57. Work includes traffic and erosion control, asphalt pavement, grading, base aggregate, concrete sidewalk, curb and gutter, storm sewer, pavement marking, lighting and weir expansion.

Nov. 2 – 6: Contractor will complete the sidewalk, pavement marking, signing and seeding.

Traffic impacts: Hwy. 57 may be reduced to one lane in both directions from Sunday at 9 pm to Friday at noon. Median crossing of County C at 57 is closed. Drivers who wish to turn left on County C or cross 57 on County C will use the newly constructed J-turns.
