County in DNR Calendar

Door County is well represented throughout the 2014 – 2015 Wisconsin’s Great Lakes Calendar produced by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources’ Office of the Great Lakes.

The calendar runs Sept. 2014 through Dec. 2015. Above each month is a photograph from a winning entry in several categories of Great Lakes photos. A panel of DNR staff chooses the winners. In addition to the large photos, there are small insets of runner-up photos sprinkled throughout.

Door County makes its first appearance above October 2014, with a beautiful starry night shot of Cana Island Lighthouse, shot by Chris Miller of Sister Bay. His photo took first place in the Cultural & Historic Features category of the photo contest.

January 2015 features Chuck Germain’s photo called “Ice Formations” taken at Cave Point County Park.

Above June 2015, four happy girls run on the beach at Newport State Park. The photo is titled “Footloose & Fancy Free” and was shot by Chris Kuhlow.
