Crossroads of Door County Offers Various Programs

Crossroads at Big Creek will continue offering programming and educational opportunities throughout June.

June 24 will kick off Running Green for Crossroads, Door County’s only eco-friendly trail run. Check in and registration will take place from 5 – 7 pm. On June 25, the run will take place at 9 am with registration opening at 7 am. To learn more about the run, visit http://www.crossroadsrun.com.

The Historical Village at The Crossroads, an educational site of the Door County Historical Society, will continue its weekly Sunday programming with a portrayal of C.V Mashek on June 26 from 1:30 – 3:30 pm. Mashek, portrayed by Eldor Kaiser, will discuss his famous neighbor to the north, Wildcat Joe Marden, who lived at the outlet of Shivering Sands Creek and is rumored to have brought a wildcat on a leash to a grocery store. Other colorful Door County citizens will be portrayed as well.

June 27, the Crossroads will host a family program entitled “Insects Everywhere.” Participants will search for insects of the summer. June 28, the Green General Store in the Historical Village at the Crossroads will be open at 1:30 pm to teach attendees about storekeepers and goods circa 1900.
