Daoust Sets Eagles’ Single-game Scoring Record

Southern Door junior guard Drew Daoust scored more points than Sevastopol’s entire boys basketball team Tuesday when the Eagles defeated the Pioneers in Packerland Conference action, 93-49.

Daoust’s 53 points, which included eight three-pointers, also set a single-game scoring record at Southern Door, breaking the previous school record of 51 set by his older brother, Kyle, a 2019 Southern Door High School graduate.

The Eagles, who led 49-25 at halftime, got another 12 points from Caden Pierre. Matthew Malvitz added nine points.

Sevastopol was led in scoring by Frankie de Young, Lucas Delsart and Zaul Valdivia with eight points each.

Southern Door, which improved to 2-0 in the conference, plays its next league game Dec. 14 at Sturgeon Bay.

The Pioneers, who are 0-1 in the Packerland, host their next conference game Friday against Sturgeon Bay.
