DCS&PS to Offer Boater’s Safety Course

The Door County Sail & Power Squadron offers ABC-3, a boater’s safety course, beginning April 16 at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College in Sturgeon Bay. This DNR-prescribed boating safety course provides the basic instruction needed to successfully complete the exam required for a safety certificate issued by the DNR.

On April 16, registration is at 6 pm and class begins at 6:30 pm. Subsequent classes will be held 6:30 – 8:30 pm on April 23, April 30 and May 7.

The course, including materials and the DNR processing fee, is $40. Children, 11 – 15, can take the course if accompanied by an adult; however, they must be 12-years-old before taking the exam. The Squadron offers a discount for multiple family members.
