DCU Boys Swimmers 2nd at Chilton Triangular

The Door County United (DCU) cooperative high school boys swimming team won five events Thursday when the team placed second at a triangular meet in Chilton.

Chilton had the top score with 133.5 points, followed by DCU (58) and Berlin (25.5).

DCU’s winning 200-yard freestyle relay team of Jack Monfils, Luke Filar, George Atwell and Logan Filar finished 10 seconds ahead of Chliton in 1 minute, 43.21 seconds.

The individual winners for DCU included two swimmers who won two events each. Monfils placed first in the 100 butterfly (59.07) and 100 breaststroke (1:05.29). Logan Filar won both the 200 individual medley (2:18.25) and 100 freestyle (55.87).

Luke Filar added a second-place finish in the 50 freestyle (26.38) and came in third in the 100 backstroke (1:13.52).

Atwell placed third in the 200 freestyle (2:19.03) and fourth in the 500 freestyle (6:27.11).

Next up for DCU is another triangular meet Tuesday in Plymouth against Sheboygan South and Plymouth.
