DCU Boys Swimmers Open Season in Triangular

The Door County United (DCU) cooperative boys swimming team opened its season Nov. 22 with a triangular meet at Chilton.

Green Bay United topped the team standings with 129.5 points, followed by Chilton (87.5) and DCU (86).

DCU swimmers, who placed first in only one event, finished 1-2 in the 100-yard breaststroke, with Jack Monfils winning the race in 1 minute, 8.12 seconds, and Branden Neubauer placing runner-up in 1:19.71.

Monfils added a runner-up finish in the 200 individual medley (2:13.17), while Race Kasten placed second in two individual events – the 50 freestyle (24.66) and 100 backstroke (1:00.04).

Two of DCU’s relay teams placed runner-up, with Kasten, Monfils, Logan Filar and Ezra Linnan in the 200 medley relay (1:49.81) and Kasten, Monfils, Neubauer and George Atwell in the 400 freestyle relay (4:15.58).

Up next for DCU is an invitational Dec. 3 at Plymouth.
