DNR Approves Egg Harbor Marina Expansion

On Monday, July 21 the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources issued a permit for a new Egg Harbor Municipal Marina and Harbor of Refuge.

The new structure will provide a Harbor of Refuge, which provides shelter for small watercraft in the event of dangerous wave and weather conditions. The village deemed a new marina was necessary after a reconstruction done in 2005 failed. It is estimated the new marina will cost $7.9 million to complete.

The new facility will increase the number of slips from 33 to 65, plus transient slips, ranging in size from 25 to 50 feet, with a majority designed for vessels under 40 feet in length.
