Donation Covers New Walking Path at John Miles County Park

The Cordon Family Foundation Charitable Trust has donated $40,000 to Door County so it can design, construct and maintain an asphalt walking path at John Miles County Park.

The park at 812 N. 14th Ave. has been the site of the Door County Fair since 1908. Today it has many different structures and uses, and it abuts the Door County Community Center, which also houses the Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) of Door County. The asphalt trail would connect the park with the community center and the ADRC garden and deck near the dining hall.

The Cordon Trust was offered naming rights and chose to call it the Cordon Family Foundation Charitable Trust Walking Path.

The county board supervisors accepted the donation during their Dec. 14 meeting, and several supervisors expressed enthusiasm about creating more trails in Sturgeon Bay.
