Door County Art League Showcase Gallery

The Door County Art League (DCAL) will hold a grand opening for its new Showcase Gallery on Friday, May 23. The gallery will be open from 10 am – 5 pm, and a reception will be held from 5 – 9 pm, during which the public is cordially invited to meet and mingle with DCAL artists, enjoy refreshments, and peruse the many original pieces of art. All types of media are on display and for sale. The Door County Art League Showcase Gallery is located in the Top of the Hill Shops in Fish Creek at Highway 42 and County F.

The Door County Art League is comprised of members who are painters, sculptors, jewelers, potters, photographers, fabric artists, and more. Previous League showcase galleries were in the Ephraim Green Gables Shops, the Sister Bay Walkway Shops, and Stone Harbor in Sturgeon Bay.

The new gallery is managed by long-time league member Jane Delcarson, a graphic artist specializing in calligraphy and design. A graduate from the American Academy of Art in Chicago in 1953 with an Associate Degree and from George Williams University in 1972 with a BA, her professional experience has been in commercial art studios.

Nearly 300 members strong, the Door County Art League was organized in 1986 and incorporated in 1993 for the purpose of developing active community involvement in the field of creative arts. Membership is open to artists and all other persons interested in and supportive of the visual arts in Door County.
