Door County Medical Center Offers Art Day Camp for Kids

Door County Medical Center’s Art on the Wild Side Day Camp for children ages 5 to 12 offers weeks of fun in three locations. The Peg Egan PAC, the Southern Door Community Auditorium and Algoma’s Perry Park will offer a free visual and performing arts summer day camp for children focusing on music, art and health using performance, demonstrations and other fun activities. Children are challenged while building friendships, embracing diverse experiences, and learning new skills. Each day of the week children will have the opportunity to focus on different visual and performing arts activities. Art on the Wild Side summer day camp features some of Door County’s finest visual and performing artists as facilitators.

Children who want to explore their creative potential and refine their artistic skills will have the opportunity to participate in drama classes, painting, nature sculptures, watercolors, puppet making, jewelry design, yoga and meditation, dance, drumming, songwriting, and more. Children must be signed up for one whole week in order to participate.

All classes are free of charge and open to all Door County and Algoma residents.

The dates and times follow for each location: Peg Egan – 9 to 11 am, June 12-16; Algoma’s Perry Park – 9 to 11 am, July 3-7; Southern Door Auditorium – 9 to 11 am, July 10-14 and July 17-21.
