Door County YMCA Strivers Come Home with State Champions

The Striver Gymnastics Team had an incredible showing at the State Tournament in Waukesha, Wis. The team came home with two individual State Champions and numerous individual top ten placements.

Level eight gymnast Rychia Bosman rounded out her senior year by winning the state title on the vault with a score of 9.05. She also received fifth on beam and fifth on bars.

Level three gymnast, nine-year-old Katie Frank, secured a state title on the vault with a 9.775. She also placed fifth on the floor. Teammate Mya Ploor placed third on vault with a 9.55. Ten-year-old Reetika Jandu placed third on vault with a 9.675.

Prep Optional gymnasts Sophia Pollman, Demi Ploor and Anna Snell, all age 12, captured the only team trophy for the Striver group. The girls came home with a fourth place trophy scoring a 70.850. Pollman placed third on vault and tied for seventh in the all around with teammate Ploor.

Prep Optional gymnast, 18-year-old Ruthie Kolb captured a fourth place medal on bars scoring a 9.00.

Abby Dickson, 14, secured a fourth on floor and a second on beam. Thirteen-year-old Thiede received a fifth place medal in the all around scoring a 34.40.

The Striver girls have the opportunity to compete in the YMCA Gymnastics Nationals held in Toledo, Ohio this June. Registered for the National Meet date are Bosman, Thied, Pollman and Jandu.
