Door County Yoga Announces Fall 2017 Workshops

Door County Yoga has a number of fall workshops in store for October and November.

On Oct. 15, 4 – 5:15 pm, “Meditation for Those Who Can’t” is for people who find it hard to meditate. Learn basic breathing techniques to help reduce stress and improve your quality of life. This workshop will be fun and somewhat irreverent. Laughter guaranteed. The teacher is Jim Mihaley, a certified yoga instructor and an award-winning author published by Macmillan. He was recently hired to collaborate on a series of guided meditations for vets with PTSD. The cost is $1, no joke.

A half-day retreat of “Mindfulness Immersion” is Oct. 29, 2-5 pm. This workshop will take participants through various forms of mindfulness meditation including sitting, body scan, self-compassion, and gentle mindful movement. Learn how to use the breath as a stress reduction tool and bring awareness to how the mind affects bodies and physical health. Please wear comfortable clothing. The class is $55 (including practice CD) and led by Barbara Wulf.

An “Intro to Yoga” workshop is Nov. 4, 11 am – 1 pm. Learn the foundational postures of yoga, breathing techniques, proper alignment, and modifications to suit your body. This event is a fundraiser in support of The Healing Project at Door County Medical Center. All proceeds from this workshop will be donated to the project, which connects cancer patients with holistic healing modalities. The cost is $30 and the class will be taught by Brooke Ulrich.

Register for these workshops at doorcountyyoga.com or call 920.495.2899. Door County Yoga is located at 143 N 4th Avenue in Sturgeon Bay.
