King Henry’s court of jesters, players, and singers will once again entertain when Gibraltar High School choral students present a “Magical Madrigal Evening” at Bjorklunden, November 14 – 16. The annual event celebrates the festive arrival of the holiday season with enchanting voices, delicious food and plenty of laughter.

Under the direction of choral music instructor, Lauren Gilmore, the students will perform and serve wearing period costumes. Reigning over this year’s Madrigal are Queen Emily Johnson and King Justin Meyer along with the merry court. More than 60 students are involved in the Madrigal and will be serving heavy hors d’oeuvres and dessert to everyone, a break from the traditional meal served in previous years.

The “Magical Madrigal Evening” is set to take place in Vail Hall at Bjorklunden, Baileys Harbor, on Friday, November 14 and Saturday, November 15 at 6:30 pm, and Sunday, November 16 at 3 pm. Adults are $17.50, students $11 and children under the age of 7 are free. Tickets are available from Gibraltar High School choral students, from the high school office, and at North Shore Bank.

Madrigal is a fundraiser for the Gibraltar High School Choral Music program, supporting student trips as well as providing much needed music supplies. For more information, call the high school office at 920.868.3284.
