Door County’s Ridges Sanctuary Hosts “No Family Left Inside” Program

The Ridges Sanctuary in Baileys Harbor is sponsoring a Geocaching Workshop on Feb. 19 at 10 am at the Ridges’ Marshall Cabin. The cost for the program is $10 per family (1 or 2 adults and their children under 18).

During the workshop, participants will discuss geocaching and how it got started. They will then seek out several caches hidden along the sanctuary trails. Participants should bring GPS receivers, if possible, but some units will be available for use during the workshop. Also, participants should dress to be outside for about an hour, and wear warm footwear.

The Geocaching Workshop is one in a series of programs called “No Family Left Inside.” These programs are offered by the Door County YMCA, the McArdle Library, and The Ridges and are designed to give parents and children the opportunity to explore nature together. Attendees can pre-register by calling the Northern Door YMCA at 920.868.3660 or The Ridges at 920.839.2802.

Upcoming programs include Building for Bluebirds on March 19, Signs of Spring on April 16, and a Frog Walk on May 13. All programs are held at The Ridges Sanctuary, located just north of Baileys Harbor at 8288 Hwy Q.
