DuCharme Publishes Ninth Book

Local author Judy DuCharme has released her ninth book, Addy of the Door Islands, as a sequel to Lainey of the Door Islands.

The book tells the story of Addy and her sister, Molly, who arrive in Ephraim on the Orphan Train steamer, but no one is waiting for them. Addy’s determination to care for her sister and her impetuousness often land her in trouble, but she becomes a great help to others who arrive on the Orphan Train and takes a Great Lakes journey to the home of her birth in search of her first parents.

DuCharme’s children’s book, I Want a Water Buffalo for Christmas, was released in November and is all about giving. Join the journeys of LeGory, a young water buffalo; Emma; and Dalia to discover a miracle. Geared toward children of elementary-school age, it features illustrations by Door County author Julie House. 

The book has earned honors in the 2021 Winter Pinnacle Achievement Awards, the prestigious Blue Ridge Conference and the Book Excellence Awards.
