Eagles Beat Brillion in Week 2 Football Matchup

Southern Door’s football team remained undefeated on the season Friday when the Eagles won their non-conference contest at Brillion, 26-7.

Three of Southern Door’s four touchdowns came on the ground with Zack Lynch running into the end zone from 66 and 71 yards away in the second and fourth quarter, respectively, as he accounted for 173 of the Eagles’ 214 rushing yards. Quarterback Drew Daoust ran in the first touchdown in the first quarter from two yards out.

Daoust, who also threw a 14-yard scoring strike in the third quarter to Gaige Geisel, ended up completing five of 10 passes for 87 yards with a touchdown and an interception.

The Lions’ only touchdown came in the second quarter when Daoust was intercepted deep in Southern Door’s own territory for a pick-six.

The Eagles, who improved to 2-0 overall, begin their Packerland Conference schedule Sept. 1 at Mishicot.

Clippers Fall to Red Robins

Sturgeon Bay tasted defeat for the first time this season Friday when the Clippers lost a non-conference road game to Antigo, 20-15.

The Red Robins led 14-7 at halftime before both teams added a second-half touchdown.

Both of Sturgeon Bay’s touchdowns came through the air, with quarterback Danny Lodl completing 23 of 47 passes for 276 yards with two touchdowns and one interception.

The Clippers, who dropped to 1-1 overall, open their Packerland Conference schedule at home Sept. 1 against Bonduel.
