Engaging Communities in Conservation Presentation in Baileys Harbor

“Engaging Our Communities in Conservation” is the subject of the Lake Michigan Stakeholders Fall 2016 Membership Meeting, to be held Thursday, Oct. 20, at Baileys Harbor Town Hall.

During the event, which begins at 8:30 am, explore conservation priorities, strategies to manage invasive species, and hear from citizen champions about their conservation efforts in Door County. You’ll also hear about forest and rare orchid restoration projects. Lunch at The Ridges Sanctuary will provide time to network and wander. In the afternoon, choose one of three different habitat projects to visit. Trips to Jacksonport, Clark Lake and Kangaroo Lake will be hosted by citizen advocates. Finally, you can wrap up your day with a conversation on the initiatives of the Niagara Escarpment Resource Network.

The cost is $20 and includes lunch; pre-register by Oct. 12. To pay by credit card, go to lakemichiganstakeholders.org and click on the event link. To pay by check, email your name, organization and complete contact information to Sherill Anderson at [email protected] or call 920.412.1920. Then mail your check payable to LNRP, PO Box 358, Cleveland, Wis., 53015. Please put “LMS Fall Meeting” on the memo line.
