Ephraim Men’s Club Hosts Annual Breakfast Aug. 5

The Ephraim Men’s Club’s annual breakfast to raise scholarship money for Northern Door students is Aug. 5, 7:30 – 11 am at the Old Ephraim Village Hall (9996 Water St.). Eight Gibraltar High School graduates won college scholarships from the club: Olivia Alberts, Sheridan Ash, Riley Haleen, Natalie Hooten, Sadie Nelson, Jordan Pluff, Sophia Pollman, Alexis Schnick and Nathan Surges.

Last year the club served breakfast – pancakes, sausages, juice and coffee – to 527 guests. “About five dozen members of the club work on the breakfast,” said chair Jim Reeve. “We have great enthusiasm, and it’s a delight for club members to meet the scholarship winners.”

During the past five decades the men’s club has raised more than $210,000 for scholarships. Proceeds come from ticket sales and contributions from businesses, Ephraim residents and men’s club members. Tickets are $10 adults and $6 children. Diners can also win door prizes.
