Ephraim Fyr Bal is Back June 18

The 56th annual Fyr Bal will be held along the shoreline of Eagle Harbor June 18. Celebrate Ephraim’s Scandinavian heritage and the transition of spring into summer at this day-long event.

The festival starts off with a yoga class at Anderson Dock, a pancake breakfast and used book sale. The Fur Bal pet parade takes place at 9 am and pets of all types are invited to participate. Participants will be named Best Owner/Pet Look Alike, Best Costume and one lucky pet will receive Best in Show and an award with a medallion created by Gemma Lou’s Door County Furbaby Treats. Registration is not required.

The Artisan and Food Vendor Market starts at 10 am with various goods and tasty treats. Participate in the ice cream or cherry pie eating contests, and check out the cake walk.

The festival offers many options for family-friendly activities throughout the day like visits by a balloon artist, caricaturist, strolling entertainer, face painting, make-your-own Fyr Bal medallion and lots more.

The Fyr Bal Cornhole tournament returns this year at the Edgewater Resort and is open to all ages. Teams can register at the Ephraim Business Council Tent before the event.

Throughout the day, DJ Michael Raye will be playing music next to Ephraim Village Hall. Live music acts include D’Arez and Frank Maloney & His Big Country Unit.

Fyr Bal raffle tickets are currently on sale at the Ephraim Visitor Information Center and various Ephraim businesses. There are many amazing prizes from Ephraim businesses as well as a $500 grand prize.

The highlight of the festival is the 56th Chieftain ceremony where an Ephraim resident or business owner is honored with this prestigious title which is voted on by the public for service to the community. A fireworks display over Eagle Harbor brings the festival to a close at sunset.
