Fall Concert Series at Northern Sky

Northern Sky Theater is debuting a fall concert series in September at its Peninsula State Park outdoor theater.

“We’ve been wanting for a long time to expand our outdoor offerings into the fall,” said Northern Sky co-founder, playwright and performer Doc Heide. “It’s a beautiful time to be outside in Door County, and we are really looking forward to featuring so many of our favorite Northern Sky singers, musicians and friends.”

Composer and pianist James Kaplan, and actor and songwriter Karen Mal will take the stage Sept. 1-3 in a performance they’re calling Back to the Woods. They’ll also welcome two special guests: Minnesota songwriter David Stoddard and Sturgeon Bay chanteuse Kay Stiefel.

Songwriter and playwright Katie Dahl, and Northern Sky artistic director Jeff Herbst will reprise their popular pandemic offering, The Jeff & Katie Show, Sept. 8-10. It’s a variety show featuring a bake-off, trivia, banter and music. They’ll also welcome Memphis multi-instrumentalist Eric Lewis as a special guest Sept. 8 and 9, and Doc Heide on Sept. 10.

Heide will return Sept. 14-16 with playwright, actor and singer Lee Becker for Northwoods Nightcap: Happy Hour Edition. During the mid-2000s, they created the popular Northwoods Nightcap format for the Peninsula Park stage. They will emcee and perform in these concerts, which will feature humor, plenty of original music and special guests.

All tickets ($20 each) are general admission, and no park sticker is required to attend. Purchase tickets at northernskytheater.com or by calling 920.854.6117. Refreshments, including beer, will also be available for purchase at the theater.
