Family Garden Fun at The Ridges

The Ridges Sanctuary in Baileys Harbor is sponsoring the second in a series of “Family Vegetable Garden Fun” programs on Tuesday, July 13 from 3 – 5:30 pm. The public is invited to bring the whole family and get right in the dirt!

Participants will learn and practice thinning, hoeing, and pruning on The Ridges garden. A Garden Harvest Picnic will take place Saturday, August 14 from 2 – 4:30 pm. Attendance at each program is not required. Participants are asked to meet outside the Nature Center. The event is free though donations are appreciated.

The Ridges Sanctuary, a non-profit nature preserve, is located just north of Baileys Harbor on County Highway Q. Trails are open to the public year round for a small fee (members may hike at no charge). The Nature Store, featuring a variety of nature-related books, puppets, T-shirts and gift items, is open for the season. Naturalist-led hikes in the Sanctuary are scheduled Mondays –Saturdays at 1:30 pm. For more information call 920.839.2802 or visit http://www.RidgesSanctuary.org.
