Garden Writer Rob Zimmer Presents at The Ridges

Join fellow birding enthusiasts for a Discovery Bird Hike on June 18 at 6:30 am. This early morning excursion into the woods, fields and waters around Baileys Harbor is appropriate for both beginning and experienced birders. Hikers meet at The Ridges Cabins, 8288 Cty Q, in Baileys Harbor. Discovery Bird Hikes are free for Ridges members. There is a $5 fee for the general public. Additional Discovery Bird Hikes are scheduled at 6:30 am on June 25 and July 2, 9, 16, 23 & 30.

Award-winning nature and garden writer and photographer Rob Zimmer will present “Fascinating Ferns of Wisconsin” on June 23 at 7 pm. Zimmer has written for a number of newspapers and currently hosts the weekly radio program “Outdoors with Rob Zimmer.” His program will explore and illuminate the complex world of these stunning plants. The Lake Lessons summer speaker series is held weekly at The Ridges Nature Center, 8166 Hwy 57 in Baileys Harbor. Admission is free.

Take a Photo Op Hike on June 28 at 10:30 am to find some of the photographic hotspots at The Ridges. Grab a camera and enjoy an easy, relaxing hike to locate some of the hidden natural treasures within the Sanctuary. Meet the guide at The Ridges Nature Center, 8166 Hwy 57 in Baileys Harbor. Adult fees are $5 for Ridges members and $8 for the general public. Children and students under 18 hike free.
