Final Seminar of Sail and Power Squadron Series is “Paddle Smart”

The Door County Sail and Power Squadron concludes its 2015 Summer Seminar Series on Aug. 8 with “Paddle Smart.” Paddle sports is the fastest growing part of boating. Kayaking, canoeing or rowing are enjoyable opportunities to get close to nature, have a great time, and get some quality exercise in the process. This seminar is intended for those about to join the sport and those considering purchasing paddling equipment. What’s included in the seminar? A discussion of risks, safety, paddle craft “language,” how to select a paddle craft, necessary equipment, life jackets for paddlers, paddles, optional equipment, helmets and cold water protection.
