Finding Your Funk

During the June 6 Coffee & Conversation program at Write On, Door County in Juddville, poet Sean Chambers (standing) discussed how music influences writing, and specifically how funk has influenced his poetry. Attendees listened to some of Chambers’ funk influences – especially Parliament-Funkadelic – and learned about the history of the genre.

In addition to being the recent poet-in-residence at Write On, Chambers is a creative nonfiction writer and an associate professor of English at Valley Forge Military College in Pennsylvania.
