First of the Season

“When the Cows Come Home” by Charles “Chick” Peterson.

Charles L. Peterson’s show will be the first of Cottage Row Gallery’s special events for 2014. The show opens June 14 with a “meet the artist” reception from 10 am to 1 pm.

Charles “Chick” Peterson lives and works in Door County, where he moved in 1973 following a twenty-year career as a college Professor of Art. Long respected by the serious art community for his masterful work with watercolor, his Memories Collection brought unprecedented national popularity in signed, limited edition reproductions. He is also widely known in maritime painting, having repeatedly won prizes at Mystic Seaport Maritime Museum’s International Competitions, where he is listed among their Modern Maritime Masters.

The show features a wonderful collection of more than 25 new original paintings of varying themes and sizes. Watercolor, pencil, and ink & gouache are some of the mediums Peterson has used to create this new collection. Peterson’s books, Of Time and Place and Reflections will also be available as well as his cards and a large selection of his signed and numbered limited edition prints.

In addition to Peterson, Cottage Row also represents artists Dan Anderson, Jack Anderson, Bridget Austin, Michael Bond, Don Fundingsland, Kathy Glasnap, Mary Johnson, June Maeder, Stacey Small Rupp and Mark Vandervinne.

The gallery is located at 9197 Highway 42, ½ mile south of Fish Creek at Lautenbach’s Orchard Country Winery, open daily 10 am – 5 pm, and Sundays 10 am – 4 pm. For more information call 920.868.2626 or visit cottagerowgallerydc.com.
