Fishing Derby Saturday

The Dave Pagels Memorial/ Door County Walleyes for Tomorrow ice fishing derby will be held Feb. 27 at the Wave Pointe Resort and Marina. Fishing entrants can fish from 4 am until the weigh-in at 2 pm.

Entry is $35 and tickets can be purchased at the Hole ‘n One Mobil, P.J.’s of Door County, Stevenson Pier mini-mart, or Deprey’s Kwik Stop in Dyckesville. Waters available to fish are from Dyckesville to and including Sturgeon Bay. Fish tournament prizes will be paid in Perch, Northern Pike, Walleye, and Whitefish divisions with $2,800 in prize money up for grabs.Raffles begin at 11 am and continue until 5 pm.

Raffle prizes to be given away include weekend getaways, charter fishing trips, 42″ Plasma HDTV, 1/2 cow, 1/2 pig, and others. You need not purchase fish entry tickets to come and play other raffles. Live music follows with Rocker playing from 6 – 10 pm. Stop by and enjoy family fun. Soda, brats, burgers, and adult beverages will be available on-site. Money raised supports WFT projects in fish stocking and habitat improvement in Door County and our community outreach program supporting the disabled kids fishing programs at Sunshine House.
