Focus on Color

See color through the eyes of twenty-three artists from around Wisconsin and the Midwest in the new exhibition opening at the Miller Art Museum, “Focus on Color.”

Many of the artists will be present at the show’s opening reception July 21 from 5 – 6:30 pm. The invited artists explore color in a wide variety of media, including sculpture, painting, ceramics, textiles, and printmaking.

Chosen to represent a wide range of styles and approaches, the participating artists each use color in the manner that best suits their goals and purposes. For example, artists may use realistic color that approximates their own optical experiences.

Door County artists with work in “Focus on Color” include Samara Christian, Franne Dickinson, Chad Luberger, Liz Maltmann, Wence and Sandra Martinez, Tim Nyberg, Jeremy Popelka, and Stephanie Trenchard.

“Focus on Color” continues through September 11 at the Miller Art Museum, located within the Door County Library in Sturgeon Bay, open Mondays from 10 am – 8 pm and Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 am – 5 pm.
